Assassin's Creed Introduces Bizarre AoT Event for Thanksgiving

In a surprising crossover event that breaks traditional forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Disclosed

According to the official statement, "A strange confrontation draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where hints of banned ceremonies and terrifying transformations resonate through the obscurity." The plot introduces a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine sect.

The adventure concentrates on "bizarre tests and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Changes

The teaser features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, likely the captive, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Rewards and Extra Material

Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an exclusive katana in addition to several artifacts concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

  • Titan-based costume for Yasuke
  • Mikasa outfit for Naoe
  • Special weapons
  • Survey Corps steed

Latest Free Story Update

This release also adds the game's newest complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive skills: Naoe introduces a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

Past Japanese Animation Collaborations

This represents scarcely the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime franchises. The series formerly featured a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla unofficially contained a quest that obviously nodded to the famous series One-Punch Man.
