Intensive Moscow's Strikes Eliminate Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with problems to water systems, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Moscow has increased strikes on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while officials has called for "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets targeted the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks come after nights of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the national power system, with assaults already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were bracing for more assaults.
